The Cathey's Valley Historical Society was formed in 1995 with the main purpose of saving and preserving the 1879 Cathey's Valley Schoolhouse. We can proudly say that the Schoolhouse was saved from demolition and is now sitting in the Cathey's Valley park fully restored. It is used for education and cultural events. Each year several schools send students to attend class in "1879" at the Schoolhouse. The Society has grown. We continue to maintain and operate the Schoolhouse as well as try to preserve the rich history of our area. If you are interested in joing us or in our activities please leave a message.
